The Executive Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), Chief Richard Onwuka Egbule, has urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to disregard any circular purporting review of the supplementary allowance payable to security personnel attached to political, public and Judicial office holders.

He stressed that the only circular in respect of the said allowances remained that of 1st November 2017 which conveyed government’s approval for the payment of supplementary allowance of N50, 000 per month for officers and N30,000 per month for other ranks of security personnel.

The Chairman, further in a statement signed by the Commission’s Chief Press Secretary, Emma Njoku, cautioned MDAs that it has not issued any circular to revise the supplementary allowance payable to security personnel attached to political, public and Judicial office holders.

The statement indicated the existence of fake circular which  “fraudulently revised the supplementary allowance from N50, 000 to N120,000 per month for officers and from N30,000 to N100,000 per month for other ranks.”

Saying that none of such had been  revised, Chief Onwuka Egbule, directed all MDA’s that any payments already made or intended to be made on account of it should be reversed immediately and all enquiries should be forwarded to the Commission.
