The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has dismissed the Federal Government’s mass deployment of security operatives to the Eastern and Southern parts of Nigeria, saying that it would rather strengthen resolve and recruitment to the cause.
He said this “unwarranted siege of Biafraland must stop. Or we stop it”, adding that the siege would not make them to back down from restoring Biafra.
It would be recalled that there had been series of attacks on police stations and checkpoints in the southern parts of the country by unknown gunmen which the Federal Government claimed are being masterminded by members of IPOB.
Also, of recent, after security council meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal government disclosed that it has devised security measures to contain the security problems in the South South and South Eastern parts of Nigeria.
But in a tweet via of his Twitter handle @MaziNnamdiKanu, the IPOB Leader warned the Federal Government saying: “Let this be clear: This unwarranted siege of Biafraland must stop. Or we stop it. The siege won’t make us to back down from restoring #Biafra.
“It will rather strengthen our resolve & recruit more faithfuls to the cause. The more you siege, the closer Biafra beckons.”
The agitation for Biafra for long emanated out of apparent marginalization of the South Eastern parts of Nigeria in the affairs of the country by the nation’s successive federal government.
