The Federal High Court (FHC) will, on July 26, begin its annual vacation for the year 2021.

The vacation, according to a statement by the Chief Information Officer of the court, Catherine Oby-Christopher, is in pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the FHC (civil procedure) Rules 2019.

Oby-Christopher said the Chief Judge of FHC, Justice John Tsoho, had directed that the vacation, which would commence on July 26, would end on Sept. 17.

“The court resumes sitting on Monday, the 20th day of September, 2021.

“In order to enable honourable judges the opportunity to enjoy their well-deserved rest and to prepare for the challenges of the new legal year, only the core judicial divisions will, as usual, remain functional throughout the vacation,” the statement said.

She said the litigating public would be at liberty to approach the Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcout divisions of the court during the period.

“It is essential to stress that during the vacation, only cases of extreme urgency, such as arrest of ship(s) and fundamental rights enforcement are to be entertained.

“The vacation judges are Justices Ahmed Mohammed and Obiora Egwuatu, Abuja; Justices I.N. Oweibo and Tijjani Ringim, Lagos; and Justices S.D. Pam and A.T. Mohammed for Port Harcourt division,” the statement concluded.
